Facial shaving questions? Disposable or non? Shaving cream or gel? Aftershave? HELP!?

I have several questions for facial shaving

- Should I go with a disposable razor or not? If not then which kind should I get and how long do they last on average? What makes one better than the other?

- How do you store and keep a razor clean if it's not disposable?

- Should I use shaving cream or shaving gel? What's the difference and what's the best one to get?

- What do I do aftershaving to prevent bumps or razor burn?

- What is the best aftershave, preferably no scent but calms your skin to prevent bumps?

Please keep in mind my main goal is to get rid of hair and HAVE NO BUMPS OR PIMPLES FROM SHAVING!

THANKS, any help is greatly appreciated.Facial shaving questions? Disposable or non? Shaving cream or gel? Aftershave? HELP!?
use gillette gel it leaves no bumps at allFacial shaving questions? Disposable or non? Shaving cream or gel? Aftershave? HELP!?
the best for me is a flat triple blade non disposable, they last a long time on 1 blade with a good shave cream , get medicated shave cream if you are worried, after you are done wash your face well to get it all of f , or shave before showering. i dont like aftershaves they cause me more irritation and they tend to burn. shave only as neede to let your face heal. after a while it will toughen up and you will have less problems.
Use a high quality disposable multiblade razor. If used every day should last about 2 weeks. Rinse thoroughly after use.

Use gel cream sensitive skin formula

Use water as hot as you can possibly stand

After shave won't really do much
- I mix between triple blade razor at home and double blade disposable at the gym and I find the non-disposable lasts longer and shaves better.

The mach3 turbo (that vibrates) is a very good tripple blade razor.

Before you shave: scrub your face with abrasive face scrub like St Ives or some other. This 'beats up' the hairs and gives you a better shave.

I like the non-aerosol gel shave cream. They sell decent stuff at Trader Joes.

I use the Gillett after shave gel (mainly because the disposable razors seem to irritrate).
Here are my 2 cents...

- Disposable or not??

Judging from my experience, I'd say a non-disposable is generally better. I suggest a Gillette Fusion Phantom. You just buy the replacement heads when the conditioning strip (the little green strip that's on top of the blades) turns white.

- How do you store and keep a razor clean if it's not disposable??

Most newer razors come with a stand. I know the Gillette Fusion Phantom does. Just put it beside the sink or on a shelf or something and it will be fine. Make sure you rinse your razor when you're done.

Gel has more things like lotions, minerals, and those sorta things, so they're better. Try Gillette HydraGel shaving gel. Put a little bit on your hand and rub them together so the gel turns into a cream. Then just rub it on your skin.

- What aftershave?

Aftershave is not always needed, but when you start off shaving, it's better to use it. Again, try Gillette HydraCool aftershave. It's a balm and it works very well. Eventually your skin gets used to a razor and you won't need the aftershave. Whenever you run out of aftershave, washing your face will usually prevent it from getting irritated.

Hopefully this helps ya, feel free to IM or email me if you have any more questions. I'm sure your dad can help you too! =)
